Metapan - Santiagueno 105-78

Metapan had a 35-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Santiagueno's players. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-1991) chipped in 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Metapan players scored in double figures. Metapan's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Puerto Rican Bryan Gonzalez (190-2000, college: PR-Bayamon) responded with 44 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-1992, college: PR-Bayamon) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds.

American point guard Marquise Mosley (175-1997, college: Biola, CA) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Brayan Garcia (194-1998) chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Aaren Smith (198-1997, college: UDC) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) scored 25 points and 9 rebounds.

Brujos forced 26 Santa Ana turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Alejandro Arias (188-1992) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and American swingman Shian Bradshaw (194-1995, college: Wake Tech CC) added 24 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Santa Ana. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
